The CBS Journey
The Story Begins.
CBS was established in 2002 when tax legislation on company cars changed to a CO₂ emissions-based rating. The company set out to offer financially and operationally efficient Employee Car Ownership Schemes for corporate sector clients. Commencing operations from a small office in Bury with a team of just 5, the first scheme launched in July that year for one of the largest UK corporate sector fleets.
First Automotive Scheme.
Within a few years CBS were partner of choice to some of the UK’s biggest blue-chip clients. In 2007, a premium vehicle manufacturer approached CBS for a solution. Their brief was simple; “We want to make our cars affordable for our network, so employees working in franchise dealerships become product experts and ambassadors for our brand.”
Live Fleet Reaches 2,000 Cars.
CBS was gathering momentum quickly. The third manufacturer brand launched a CBS scheme and with a growing corporate sector customer base the business surpassed a live fleet of 2,000; a huge milestone at the time. Later that year, the business relocated to The Barracks, a former Lancashire Fusiliers Regiment museum transformed into a modern office space.

CBS' expertise and successful delivery of its solutions across the automotive sector set the business up for a period of significant growth over the following 3 years, with the CBS team more than doubling in size. CBS celebrated bringing on its 20th manufacturer and surpassed 7,000 live vehicles in September 2015.
